About Me

I've gotten a lot of inspiration from other blogs about Triathlons. If nothing else, I hope that my posts will inspire any would-be reader to pursue their goals whether that's also a Tri or a marathon or just their first 5K. Knowing that there are others out there, just like you, struggling to accomplish something so personally challenging always helps.

As for me? I'm 46 years old and I've been doing something athletic ever since I was about 9 years old and ran my first Fun Run. Though I've never been a best in class athlete and had to rely far more on hard work than on any natural talent (I don't really have any of the latter), I do enjoy and appreciate the intrinsic value in competing in something. That's true for me even though I'm usually competing against only myself.

Since my high school days of cross-country and track, I've had the pleasure of completing dozens of 5K and 10K races as well as a handful of half-marathons and one trail race. My proudest accomplishment was finishing the Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego in 2006.

I'm not a coach, not really an expert, just someone who enjoys sharing both his successes and failures. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and feel free to leave me a comment any time you want!
