Equipment

The Swim: A Zoot Z Force 3.0.  Wetsuits are delicate and I tend to be hard on them. Zoot has proven to me to be a very sturdy and reliable suit. I got over three years from previous one. Occasionally, my swim workouts call for the use of paddles and/or fins. I use FINIS Agility Hand Paddles and FINIS Yellow Zoomers short fins.

The Bike: Most racing and training is done on my Blue Triad SP though I usually put my road bike, a Cannondale CAAD8 on the trainer. The Blue is also equipped with a set of Flo 90 rims which are have performed great and are deeply discounted to other brands. I do my indoor training on a Wahoo KICKR and I use a Stages Power meter on the racing bike.

The Run: I have a need for a lot of stability and motion control. I recently switched from Brooks Addiction to Asics Gel Kayano and have been pretty happy with that decision.

Technical Stuff: I use a Garmin Forerunner 910XT watch on nearly all of my workouts. I've augmented it with a Garmin Foot Pod for the run .Garmin definitely has issues in large-crowd open water swims and I'm not entirely sold on the 920XT at this point but also really not in the market for a new device either. I use a Scosche RHYTHM Plus optical heart rate monitor which has proven to be far more accurate than the chest strap.

While the training is the primary experience I want to share here, I'll certainly share my opinions of the equipment I use. But if you really want good tech reviews, do what I do and read DC Rainmaker.
